REV. FR. VITUS PRABHUDAS PINTO OFM CAPUCHIN (Baptismal Name: Eric)

Fr. Vitus a brave and loving Friar....always ready to help anyone.....he was a peace maker .....when some difficult places where no one wanted to go....he would be the first one to go......he served the people always with a smile.....worked hard for the spiritual development of the parishioners.....he was in Pimpri, Pune...our Capuchin parish....where he worked for good number of years....had a good rapport with parishioners as a true and loving shepherd.......had developed a wonderful relationship with people through communication...he had diploma in journalism......a friar who was very jovial and with his simple and jovial nature he would make a tensed situation light.....a friar whom every body wanted to hang around and talk with him.......He would make your recreations very lively and entertaining......

I got to know him in the year 1979 when i first met him in Ghatkopar, Mumbai....he was the member of St. Ignatius Friary, Mandvi.....greater Mumbai....he would visit Fatima Friary on every week ends...he was young then,,,,,,tall and handsome friar.....he impressed me very much with his simple approach and a fraternal smile.....later on in during the formation period whenever he came down to South he would always meet and share about Maharashtra....he was in Maharashtra for number of years.....When i was elected as Vice provincial, we met in Mangalore and he encouraged me very much....later on he continued to do so.....
He was a friar for all.......no one would go with sad face after meeting him.....he always had a word of advice....he knew the tactic of getting people around.....one of his companion Fr. PA Joseph said that Vitus was a wonderful human being who would understand another human being.....a friar who had a large heart and open arms for all......
