Happy Feast of Nativity of BVM......

I grew up with a strong devotion to Mother Mary. At home, parish and school, we were told a lot of beautiful stories of fidelity and obedience of Mother Mary. Everyday Rosary was prayed in the family and then in the Village before the common grotto. All the children would sing and pray loudly to compete with each other. We would be give some plastic rosaries brought from abroad....we would hand around the neck and go about demonstrating our faith, love and devotion to Mother Mary. In the parish there would be many processions in honour of Mother Mary. We were taught that Mother Mary was an example for all to be be friends and servants of God, she was an example of surrender and commitment to God. As a child i could not understand that she offered her body and soul to the Lord to bring forth the saviour of the world. Now i understand that all of us have the same mission to give birth to Jesus wherever we are.
This is my cousin Mr. Marcus Simon Fernandes, age 56 years....expired this morning after a short illness....he leaves behind his three children and wife......please pray for his soul and his family.....we are of the same age and grew up in the same village....his mom is my father's younger sister....
She was a strong example of what it means to endure pain and go through suffering in order to collaborate and cooperate in the plan of God, plan of salvation for man. I don't remember any woman having to see her own son's suffering and death. Mother Mary witnessed it and went through it in her life. She is a model of grace, perseverance and trust. Let us follow her command: do whatever He tell you.
