The General councilors have an hectic program. They go out to visit the provinces and custodies. Last December 2015 we finished our council meeting and we, the councilors left immediately for the visits, pastoral visitation and Chapters. They returned with a lot of information on the fraternal and prayer life of the friars. They make the council richer with their first hand experiences of the provinces. They come with experiences which enlighten the council to take a proper decision regarding the life of the Province.
Yesterday, we had some mid term reports and visitation reports. The provincial ministers in their mid term reports give us a clear picture of their life and apostolate. They are also frank and open in making known their strengths and weaknesses. It is very interesting to note that the provinces make an efforts in living out the Capuchin Charism. It is also sad to note that some of the provinces are receiving less and less vocations and their big preoccupation is how to promote good vocations to the Order. Many of the provinces have financial problems which preoccupy them in a big way. The financial resources at the general curia are becoming less every year. Many of the young jurisdictions in the Order would have to find out a new ways of being self-sufficient.
We also had some requests for celebrating provincial chapters in this year 2016.
