This morning sharp at 9am we began a seminar on the theme of Mercy. First we hoisted the Vaticn flag singing the the Peace prayer of st. Francis. Many Provincial sisters of the Franciscan Families of AFFI unit in Karnataka. The secretary of the group welcomed all the participants and invited me to hoist the flag.....after which all went into the hall for the seminar....
The seminar was on the theme of Jubilee year.....the inauguration and the feast of Immaculate Conception. Br. Dennis Veigas presented the paper synthesizing the letter of the Pope. He did present well highlighting some important aspect of the Letter.....
The secretary of AFFI gave a short key note address in which she called the participants to make use of the opportunity that the Pope has give to us .....to allow our communities to be the missionaries of Mercy in ways and means suitable to us.....
After the seminar and discussion we all went to the church where Br. Dolphy Paise blessed the door of the church which was beautifully decorated.....he opened it and we all entered singing hymn of praise and worship.....
After the talk, we had some discussion and suggestions....many concrete suggestions were proposed to celebrate the year of Mercy....many sisters have come forward to serve the poor and marginalized...to keep their chapels open....and encourage people to have access to the sacrament of reconciliation.....
I celebrated the Eucharist and preached a homily on the theme of Mercy.....
