Villa Padua, Trivendrum

This friary is one of the oldest in the Province. It is given by the government on lease....the friars have a simple house with a small chapel. This is a pastoral house from here the friars serve various parishes around....it is on the sea shore and most of the Catholics are fisherfolk......it is a lovely place and the sea is just adjutant to the friary....you can hear the sound of the waves during the day but during the night more......the people are simple and poor but deep in faith....the friars are available for these people for their various needs....they come for confessions and counseling.....there are many convents in the city of Trivandrum and the friars do go for the masses and monthly recollections....the airport is just a stone's throw away.....you can hear the planes landing and taking off.....
The sea shore is busy one....yesterday being Sunday....good Catholics dedicate the day to the Lord....its wonderful to see the churches all packed....very strong and active participation.....the church resounds with faith of the people when they sing and respond.....
Olden day it is a port....the missionaries came here...this is what the friars narrated to me.....

Friars run the only social centre in the Province...the manufacture Note Books and sell to the various schools and institutions....there are 15 women who work and earn their daily livelihood.....
The friary and there are some government godowns around.....
This morning we celebrated the Eucharist with the Carmalite sisters.....
The concluding of the visitation with a talk and some suggestions to the fraternity...
Friars of the community...young and full of life...they do a lot but have energy to do much more....the province has about 80% of friars who are young.....

At the end with my smile a selfie....does good....to conclude the visitation with sweet memories....
