St. Joseph' Ashram ,Fort Kochin

Fort Kochi is an historical place. Here are number number of communities living peacefully together. This place is visited by a lot of tourist from Abroad as well locals. It gives a feeling of British Raj and Portuguese Raj. There is an anglo Indian community too.
The Friars do a lot of pastoral work. They have a small chapel where all locals come for Mass and other spiritual needs. The friars are available for the house blessings, confession and counseling. Every day Mass is attended by young and old about 75 people. On Sunday they celebrate 3 Masses for the people. The local parish is not very happy but the people like to come to the Friary. The place is very crowded. Today the muslim community is quite a big in number here. The catholics, Hindus and Muslims all live in peace. There is a lot of give and take. Wonderful relationships among them.

Many people come here to pray to Mother Mary....the Grotto is re-done by the friars ....
The birds are the beauty of our friaries....these are love birds which welcome you as you enter the friary....they also wake you up with their sweet sound....

Mother Mary is everywhere.....she is the companion of everyone here...s

The friars work in the garden and have already started enjoying the fruits of their hard labour....the soil is not so good as the place is close to the sea shore....

The hens provide some eggs for the friars...garden gives vegetables too

The chapel was renovated recently with the support of the local people....
