St. Padre Pio Friary, Mundakkayam

Kerala throughout the year is beautiful but especially in rainy season....the land wears a different look...the nature becomes more enchanting and inviting to praise the Creator.....the Nature here speaks the language of Love.....it allows one to raise mind and heart to the great creator God....we need to respect and preserve this Nature....it does a lot of good to each one of us...why then are we destroying and killing.....we are harming ourselves....one elderly person said that he never heard the name of diseases in early 30's because we breathed fresh air, drank non-polluted water,.,,ate everything fresh....today it's no more.....I think it is better to read LAUDATO SII

The Friary is named after my favorite saint Padre Pio...i felt at home here...of course in other friaries too....its a beautiful sight.....friary is surrounded by a small river,,,,flowing gently and you can hear the sound of the rushing and flowing water......
From here the higher ranges begin....the climate is much better than other parts of Kerala...it is all green and you see hills all around....the friars here are very healthy both physically as well as spiritually....

The friary has about two acres of land...well cultivated and rubber plants and other fruits are grown here.....blessed with plenty of water.....the friars work on the farm.....Grace of working.....plenary council in practice here....friars know that it is our hard work and sweat that makes the food more tastier than anything else....

The entrance of the friary....many people from around the town come seeking the spiritual help of the friars....all are available but one is available the whole day....it is good to see that the friars are in demand for spiritual help....

Through the intercession of Padre Pio the friars are well looked after....they lack nothing even though not strong financially.....Padre Pio works miracles .....

You walk around and you get the feeling that you are walking in the garden of Eden....Adam and Eve walking....so great spiritual feeling ......

Can you imagine Kerala without (KELA) banana.....they have them for breakfast and the whole day....

The flowers adorn the friary garden.....coconuts are all over....

The small river flowing by......rainy water merges into the river.....

who wouldn't want to be photographed in this scenic sight of Kerala.....
Papayas are very much seen all over India....it is something that everyone would like to eat....i am having feast.....

Friars felicitating Br. Check who celebrated his feast day.....he is a preacher and in charge of the Mission band...friars in invited for the retreats in the parishes.....Known for solid and good preaching...

Superior John....feeding Chacko...with a piece of cake...what a wonderful sight it is....may brotherly love grow all around in this paradise....

Br. Mathew.....not keeping good health but always cheerful and wearing a good infectious smile.....

Friars in waiting for the introductory talk before the visitation.....
Guardian is young and full of energy...he too is the preacher....invited in many places....
The community gathered together for the concluding remarks of the visitation.....all happy and smiling coz we are good and nothing can break our unity....we are rooted in the love of God...
