The Chapter begins .......

This morning all the ex provincials concelebrated the eucharist and after the breakfast we gathered together in the chapter hall. The hall is away from the residence we have to cross the main road and get to the chapter hall. It is good to do so.....we are around 87 including observers....it is more of international as the presence of french provincial and Detroit Provincial along with Bill Hugo....friars from Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe, Gulf and Canada...

Provincial Mathew and some of us lit the traditional indian lamp as the brothers prayed for divine light during the chapter....the brothers are all excited and ready for the chapter...it is well planned....this morning we approved all the commissions and the other business.....
The brothers were welcomed and given a shawl as symbol of welcome and love....

Eric is so happy to receive a shawl in so hot weather...it touched today 40 degrees
Michael and Hugo are overwhelmed with the warm welcome...

Nithya, chapter secretary making some announcements and roll call.....
My key note address to the chapter...inviting the friars to discern the will of God and find out ways to live our capuchin charism in better way....to be effective and more efficient in living the spirituality....we need to put the order and province first not ourselves....our agendas should not be the priority but the agenda of the province be the first...

The provincial minister presented his 30 pages detailed but good report....we had clarifications about some issues and matters....it went on well....the economic report too was well presented....not a big province financially....very tight position...not many resources....need to work hard to make economy strong....we hope that they find ways and means to be self-sufficient....

The report on social activities too was presented and received appreciation from all....there were clarifications sought which Br Nithya along with Devaram, economo gave answers....
The Missionaries were asked to share their experiences in the missions and in collaboration....they felt honored and accepted as they expressed in their sharing....they appealed to friars that they must accept them as the members of the province....they thanked the provincial and team for the love, care and communications

9 newly ordained were honored in the refectory during dinner....they are all young and waiting to initiate their ministry..
The friars wished with greeting songs....they were presented shawls and some gifts....Go forward....march on....dont look back
