Eucharistic celebration for the Sisters of Mother Teresa

It was an honor for me to celebrate this morning's Eucharist for the sisters of Mother Teresa here in one of their convents. This land is donated by the government of India during the time of Late Indira Gandhi. The land is around 11 acres and it is in the city. The sisters run a leprosium since 1973 onwards. There are about 300 patients who inmates, male and female. Sisters are whole day busy looking after these patients. Our capuchins provide spiritual support to these dedicated sisters who don't want to begin their day without an Eucharist. Today i was asked to go and i volunteered as i had been associated with the congregation.
Sisters and few patients attended the Mass....
The convents of the sisters....many people visit this centre to render their support and help....many people provide food for the patients....many come to serve the lepers....
The place is very quite and surrounded by trees and cultivation.....

The convent is very simple dwelling...reminded me of our old capuchin friaries which used to be simple dwellings....i felt at home.....

Sisters with smile and love in their heart serve the lepers.....St. francis of Assisi must be very happy that his mission is carried out not by his sons but by Mother Teresa....they nurse and bandage the wounds of the patients.....yet times the patients are in bad condition yet the sisters.....welcome them

The imposing statute of Mother Teresa attracts many people to stand before the statute and make a short prayer to be like her......Oh how i long to be like here but it cannot happen unless i surrender to the will of the Master

Friar Suresh accompanied me to the convent...having a chat with one of the sisters
The patients are all out of the rooms as the cleaning personnel are cleaning their rooms and doing their beds.....
They all long for someone to come and visit as their own may not turn up to visit them....they long for a pat and compassionate and loving look.....Jesus did that ....todays Gospel the sick and sinners were always looking for Jesus

We are happy here....it is heaven for us....but sometimes some of them get alright and take up begging as they cannot go back to their families for fear of rejection
I want to be here....as i get what i did not get from my own.....i am loved and wanted....i feel at home
The entrance to the Leprosy home....
