“LET OTHERS BUILD A CAVE WITH THEIR CLAY. WE WILL BUILD A CASTLE WITH OURS".

The inspiring title above is taken from the book “The Greatest Secret in the World” authored by OG MANDINO. He says that a mulberry leaf touched by man becomes silk, a field of clay touched by man becomes a castle, a Cyprus tree touched by man becomes a shrine, a cut of sheep’s hair touched by man becomes raiment for a king. In the history of each of us, this particular saying is true as we have seen that growth in our lives over the years with the touch of the genius of many a holy and spiritual men and women. We have multiplied by a hundred the hard work of our parents, teachers and format ors who toiled day to form us as good human beings.

The wheat cannot choose for itself whether it should be fed to swine, ground for bread or planted to multiply. But we had a choice to grow and multiply. We wisely decided to plant the seeds of progress and development with the support of persons of generous persons. We have matured over the years in spite of some dark clouds and disappointments, debilities and inabilities because we chose to plant our energies, intellect, talents and gifts. Now as we look forward to our future lives let us start moving hands towards fulfilling our dreams by allowing ourselves to sprout and blossom with showers of grace and warmth of the Holy Spirit.

So, let us now set goals for the day, the week, the month, the year and for our fraternal communion and life. Let us all now allow the Capuchin Charism to crack the shell of narrowness, selfishness and individualism so that we may sprout to our full potentialities to achieve our objectives. Before we reach our goals we might stumble and fall, but every stumbling and fall makes us strong. Let the Capuchin Franciscan rule, Constitutions, rich traditions and our own statutes warm us up to bring forth the desired goals and turn our dreams into reality. Let us together begin to climb the mountain putting the best foot of our abilities and talents forward. Let the Capuchin Charism guide all of us to religious maturity to achieve our goals by setting aside all that divides us.

We, like grain of wheat must multiply a hundredfold to produce a hundred stalks of grace and blessing in our lives and in the vice province. Let us all believe that we are more than a grain of wheat and can feed the society and world when we live seriously our Capuchin Charism.
