Is It I, Lord?

We experience a lot of betrayal today either in the family, organizations, friendships, fraternity or political parties. It has become the Order of the Day. The ones we love and trust are the ones who betray us bitterly. In our wild imaginations or dreams we ever thought that the person who ate and drank, who praised and appreciated us would just turn his back on us. It has become the order of the day. As a result many are avoiding to associate and even get into relationships. But we must learn something from Jesus. He chose Judas though he knew in anticipation that he would betray him. Knowing the plan of salvation that his Father had for all mankind which had to pass through the cross, Jesus accepted Judas to be among the Twelve. He loved and accepted him as he did with others, he never showed the difference or any partiality. That attitude is great. It is not the who loves is at loss but the one who in spite of enjoying the love and acceptance still plans to betray, is a great loser. we know what happened to judas. there are so many among us who do exactly what judas did. In spite of all those negative workings we still ask, Is it I, Lord?
When we do betray or deny Christ, let us be like Peter who had a deep sorrow for his sins and be assured of Christ's endless mercy.
